Guardaval Ruins

Guardaval Ruins is a medieval castle in Madulain, Switzerland, built around 1250 by Bishop Volkard von Neuenburg. Once a toll station and administrative center, it later changed hands and was abandoned by 1500, falling into ruin. Restoration in the 20th century preserved its remains. Today, the site attracts hikers and history lovers with its rich heritage and panoramic views of the Engadin valley.

St. Ulrich & St. Nicholas Church and Hospice

This historic complex near Chapella includes a Romanesque church and hospice, founded between the 11th and 13th centuries for travelers crossing the Alps. Abandoned after the Reformation, the site was preserved through archaeological restoration in 1981. Today, the former hospice serves as a youth education center.

This website presents the results of the Geodetic Project Course 2025. The project team—Allyna Dachler, Dario De Luca, Andreas Dombos, Nando Grossenbacher, and Jingru Tong—carried out the field measurements in June, under the guidance of Nando Metzger, Marcel Iten, and Vukasin Bozic. Data processing was completed on July 4th.
